Gas And Bloating

Do you experience excessive gas and bloating?

We all create gas, but when does it become excessive?

When your family, friends and even the dog don’t want to hang out with you? I am kidding of course but I have heard that over the years. Do you wake up with a flat stomach, but by the end of the day you look and feel 6 months pregnant? Or perhaps you feel like there is a bowling ball in your chest and you constantly burp and belch. This is not normal and certainly not healthy.

Here is the deal, when we eat, part of the digestive process creates gas. That is normal and not to be avoided. The problem arises when it is excessive and results in the symptoms suggested above. It is true, certain foods are known to produce more gas even in the healthiest of GI tracts, beans and legumes for example. However, the standard American diet (SAD it is) and fast paced lifestyle lead to the excessive production of gas. Processed foods loaded with preservatives and chemicals are hard to digest. Add to that our rushed and stressed lives and we promote gas and bloating. The third factor is the environment within the small and large intestines. These foods and habits create an imbalance in what is called our microbiome, the beneficial bacteria present in our GI tracts. When the bad bacteria outweigh the good, they produce more gas which results in more bloating and they can even produce toxins that may affect our immune system and overall health.

If you are suffering from excessive gas, bloating, belching and abdominal pressure we can help. The problem is very easy to correct with diet modifications and support with digestive enzymes and probiotics. It is far better to address the root cause now and avoid more serious health complications later. Call us today……..
